Henry Altemus; Undated c. 1899.  Part of the "Petit Trianon" series from Henry Altemus.  Hardcover - no dust cover, many of these titles were published with a box, a label denoting the title and series to front. This box is missing.  This decorative book is bound in white with gold debossed decorations and typography with floral front and rear boards.. Boards slightly dulled and some marks. Corners very bumped and rubbed. Top and bottom of spine showing signs of wear. The decorative endpapers include a stylised HA (Henry Altemus) at the middle of each page. A small piece has been cut from top of FFEP.   There are two two title pages. The first of the title pages has a photograph of a three-dimensional decorative publisher’s device, with the book title and author overprinted in red. There is no frontispiece, as there seems to be in other volumes, in the "Petit Trianon" series, but there does not appear to be any evidence that there was one in this volume. There is no copyright page, nor indication of date, nor series name in or on the book, this would have been on the missing box. Henry Altemus catalogue of publications to rear. Slightly forward leaning. A very pretty and well loved book. Preowned. No ISBN.
