The Wayfarer's Companion By Arnold Fellows

Publisher’s Synopsis

In this book, Mr.Arnold Fellows gives a readable and informative account of the historical background to the English countryside. Taken stage by stage, from the earliest times, English history is interpreted with reference to things which the traveller can see. There are also chapters tracing the evolution of English houses, castles, monasteries, and the part which they have played in history. Finally there is an appendix which lists for every county those natural features and buildings which illustrate the text. The book is fully illustrated and has many maps and drawings.
