Bound in the publisher's original blue cloth with a gold-gilt title (slightly rubbed) to the front board and a gilded spine. Spine is dulled. Wear visible to top and bottom of spine. Corners bumped and rubbed. All three edges of the text block are uniformly sprayed in the original deep red. Some light tanning to first and last few pages. Frontispiece features a black-and-white engraved plate of Tappington Everard. This edition is the specialised unillustrated text layout, issued without the full-page plates but retaining the textual diagram illustration within "Mrs. Botherby's Story." Binding tight and text clean. Preowned. No ISBN.
