This is the "New Illustrated Edition" of The Broad Highway by Jeffery Farnol and  is a release of an Edwardian bestseller, with illustrations by the British painter Charles Edmund Brock (C.E. Brock).  This is a large volume (large octavo, approx 23 x 17 cm). It has deep blue boards with an ornate gilt foliage design to front and spine. Small colour portrait vignette of main character "Charmian" to front. The book contains 24 full-page colour plates (a frontispiece, a colour-illustrated title page, and 22 additional plates). Every plate is printed on glossy art paper and protected by a transparent, captioned tissue guard. Corners are bumped and rubbed and spine faintly sunned. Top and bottom of spine a little crushed. End papers slightly tanned. Inscription to FFEP dated 1917. Very light foxing throughout. Binding tight and text clean. Top of text block gilded. Preowned. No ISBN.
