Billy Bunter's First Case By Frank Richards

Publisher's Synopsis

The case of Coker's missing tenner set all Greyfriars talking.  It is true  that Coker of the Fifth was very careless with his money but a fellow wouldn't expect to find two five- pound notes to walk out of his blazer pocket just because he left it in his study for an hour or two, and it was unfortunate that Bunter chose that very afternoon to take advantage of Coker's  absence for a foraging trip to the empty study in pursuit of that delightful home-made jam which Coker kept in his cupboard - though that wouldn't of mattered if the study had remained empty.  The first interaction came from Price who shared the study next door with that other" sports man" Hilton.  Price had played the horses once too often and had to produce £10 for his bookie on that day or else! The next interruption came from Mr. Prout master of the Fifth! Next day Bunter found himself in the Head's study trying to explain how he happened to be in Coker's study the afternoon that tenner disappeared. He did manage to explain that he was engaging in lining his stomach rather than his pocket but he then and there decided he would find the criminal and prove just how super intelligent he was.  He'd just been reading Sherlock Holmes anyway and it was obviously all very simple.  But it took a lot of unintentional help from the Famous Five before he finally uncovered those two fivers.
